If you are like me who likes their room cleaned every day, then this hotel should not be your choose. Unless we hear otherwise, I will assume that my room was cleaned when it shouldn't have been and that the 5 day housekeeping schedule is still the official policy. So I am now confused!! Even the front desk attendant couldn't explain what was going on. But I was surprised when the entire room was thoroughly cleaned (bed made, garbage cans emptied, bathroom cleaned, etc.). Now here is the confusing part: despite visibly posting the housekeeping schedule I just described above in the room's bathroom, on the second day after I returned to my room, I fully expected the room to be the way I left it that morning. IN ESSENCE, THIS IS AN EXTENDED STAY HOTEL AND THAT IS THE CUSTOMER THEY WANT TO SERVE-not the casual business customer that comes and goes every week. Under this housekeeping policy, my room would never be thoroughly cleaned when I stay here. As a business person who travels to Champaign at least two weeks a month, I normally stay either 3 or 4 nights a week before going home for the weekend. ![]() So I came back to my room at the end of my first day exactly the way I left it: Bed unmade, garbage cans unemptied, bathroom messy etc. A light clean takes place every day ( which frankly is not noticeable). A full clean service takes place only every 5th day of your stay. It is not disclosed anywhere on their website. However when I booked the room, I wasn't aware of their housekeeping schedule. You also can't beat the price during their introductory period. Continental breakfast is nice too but not that different from other hotels. Rooms are comfy and I really liked the feature where I could roll my table around in the room to work. This is the first time I stayed at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and eager to help, and we would stay here again (brining our own toilet paper). Overall, I thought our stay was nice, with some needed tweaks to the system. They loved it! The tile is extremely slippery, so be careful around the pool area when wet. The saltwater pool was a hit with our children, and exceptionally heated. However, we were very disappointed when the staff could not give us allergen information for our son who has severe food allergies, I find this unacceptable in this day in age. The make-your-own waffles were probably the best on the bar. Thus, if you are staying here, please pack your own tp. ![]() I will say that the environmentally-conscious features of the hotel are great as well! However, and this sounds terrible, the toilet paper in the bathroom was the worst I have ever used at any hotel, I've even had better at rest stops. The H2 Market in the lobby is very nice with items to purchase including microwavable meals (pizza). The kitchen is great, with a full-size dishwasher. The sheets were very dreamy, and probably the best I have slept on in any hotel. Overall, the room was beautiful, clean, and had some nice touches (lit light switches). Also, located right next to Harvest Market grocery if you want to run over to get beverages or a salad etc to use your room. Our recent stay at this hotel was good, but there were a few minor issues. Won't quite be the I-Hotel, but not as expensive either. The hotel is well situated if you're headed to the University for sports or the Research Park especially. A couple of comfortable outdoors areas too. Lobby seating areas were very roomy and inviting. Attentive and "fine" egg items were a self-microwave version but good taste not fresh cooked nor bacon. Was closed off with a curtain- perfectly functional. Nothing wrong with it, but not my preference. My only 'negative' was that the sheets were some type of micro-fiber. TV, sitting area, bed were nice and better than I expected. ![]() (again, I prefer the Hyatt Place's brands). Shower stall was some clean white prefab type but fine (that is one difference from Hyatt Place's modern tile tub/showers) not a deal breaker. Bath vanity was very nice quality Caesarstone counter. You can use a real glass for bathroom instead of what often times ends up being a "plastic cup wrapped in plastic cover". Rooms come with true kitchenettes real plates/glassware/eating utensils big Elko sink microwave dishwasher. ![]() It's probably best categorized as a slight step-down from the Hyatt Place, but had some advantages. Room are very nice sized and well equipped. To be honest, when I first learned of it being at this hotel I thought it would be a glorified Motel 6 but was pleasantly surprised! It is new, clean, fresh. Was just here for a meeting for two days.
